Today I thought I would share a quilt that my mom recently finished for my brother. Isn't it great! I love the pop of orange.
My mom saw this Sedimentary quilt by Debbie Grifka's and wanted to try and recreate it. You should go check out Debbie's blog, Esch House Quilts. So many pretty projects!
I'm fairly certain that my mom didn't use a jelly roll for this quilt, but couldn't you see how easy it would be to grab a couple and mesh them together in this way? So fun.
For the back, my mom used this great Subway Signs fabric by Tim Holtz. The fabric wasn't wide enough on its own so she added a strip of different colored blocks with black sashing. I think it turned out so great. Way to go mom!
Great back fabric! Have you ever made your own "jelly roll" using the GO! 2-1/2" strip cutter? It's Pick-Your-Own-Fabrics day when doing that! FUN!
ReplyDelete@Alicia Key I never have. I'll have to look into that! :)
