Charm Pack Quilt Completed : Bella's Quilt

I finished quilting and binding this precious quilt last week!

This was such a fun quilt to work on. One of my very first posts was on the completed top I had finished piecing together. So long ago!

I love how special this quilt is with all of the handwritten notes on it. I also love how simple it was to put together. I literally just used a single charm pack and a 2.5" border.

I had a couple of firsts with this project.

It was my first time to bind a quilt using the backing fabric. I used a tutorial like this one.

It was also my first time quilting these little flowers. I posted a video showing the process here.

I loved the way this special quilt turned out!

I featured the packaging for this quilt on my calligraphy blog if you wanted to take a look!

Granny Square Quilt Top Complete

I finished piecing the top of my Granny Square Quilt I originally posted about here!

As mentioned in my previous post, I used a Tula Pink charm pack to create the blocks.

With that charm pack I ended up with just 9 blocks.

I decided to use some of my scraps to create 3 more blocks so that the quilt would be more of a rectangle.

I feel like this quilt could be a boy or a girl quilt. The binding and backing will help it sway one way or the other.

I need to buy batting to finish this up. I'm out! Ugh. Batting is my least favorite thing to buy. I'd rather just buy more pretty fabric!

Granny Square Quilt Blocks

I've begun piecing together blocks for a Granny Square quilt. The pattern can be found on the Moda Bake Shop. The pattern is by Jolene by Blue Elephant Stitches. She is so creative!

I strayed from the pattern just a bit. I wanted to use my Salt Water charm pack by Tula Pink that my sweet mom got for me while we were at Stitch Lab in Austin, Tx. I cut my charm pack squares into 2.5" squares.

I then cut 108 2.5" squares our of my White Bleached Bella Solid yardage. That's a lot of little white squares!

I like how it's coming along. I will end up with 9 blocks. I'm trying to decide if I will make a square baby quilt or maybe add more fabric to the top and bottom to make it more rectangular. Not sure yet!
